Install the BlastPad Application

Important: This activity should be performed by the DataBlast Workstation Installer, who must have adequate network, domain and administrator permissions to the installation machines.

During installation, the BlastPad installation wizard also checks whether the following packages and applications are already installed, and installs them if required. An internet connection is required for this step.

  • Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages
  • Datamine License Manager application

The default installation folder is C:\Program Files\Datamine\DataBlast\.

Activity Steps

  1. Ensure the following prerequisites have been met:
    • The tablet device has Wi-Fi connectivity.
    • The required TCP/IP ports are open.
    • The DataBlast Server machine can communicate to the tablet via DNS.
    • If BlastPad has previously been installed on the tablet, ensure that the BlastPad application is not running.
  2. Double-click BlastPadSetup.x64.2.x.x.x.exe.

    The BlastPad Install Wizard displays the Welcome screen.

  3. Click Next.

    The end user licence agreement displays.

  4. Select I accept the terms in the licence agreement.
  5. Click Next.
  6. To change the location of the installation folder:
    1. Click Change.
    2. Navigate to and select the installation folder.
    3. Click OK.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Click Install.

    The installation wizard installs DataBlast Pro and other applications as required.

  9. Click Finish.

    The installation wizard closes.
