Start the DataBlast Service

Important: This activity should be performed by the DataBlast System Installer or a system administrator, who must have adequate network, domain and administrator permissions to the installation machines.

The DataBlast Service can be run:

• As a Windows service (preferred)
• In a server console window (for troubleshooting)

As a Windows Service

To set the DataBlast Service to start automatically:

1. Open the Windows Services screen.
2. Right-click the Datamine DataBlast Service and select Properties from the menu.
3. Set the Startup type to Automatic (Delayed Start).
4. Click Start.

To start the DataBlast Service manually:

1. Open the Windows Services screen.
2. Right-click the Datamine DataBlast Service and select Start from the menu.

In a Server Console Window

Activity Steps

1. From the Windows Start menu, search for and run the Run Datablast Service as Executable shortcut.

   Note: The service uses the currently logged in user. If you are using integrated security to connect to the DataBlast database or the DataBlast Reporting database, ensure that the logged in user has the required database permissions.

   This shortcut has the same functionality as running the following command in Windows Command Prompt.
