Generate a Complex Work Pattern

  1. Home ribbon >> Project Settings >> Calendars >> Scheduling Calendars.

    The Scheduling Calendars screen displays.

  2. Using the Calendar list toolbar, either pick an existing calendar or click New to create a new one.
  3. Click Generate
  4. Select the start and end dates (e.g. 1 Jan 2013 - 31 Dec 2013) over which to repeat the pattern.
  5. Select the Generate a repeating pattern option to repeat the pattern over the selected date range.
  6. Add some record into the grid below the option. Specify a type (Work, No Effect, Holiday, Default), the number of days to apply the record and some shifts for the Work type.
    • No Effect - the number of days will not be changed
    • Default - the number of days is set back to the default for the calendar
    • Work - the working periods specified in the Shift field is applied
    • Holiday - the number of days is set as holidays
  7. The pattern will repeat between the specified start and end dates. When the last record is reached, the pattern will restart at the first record.
  8. Press Generate to apply.
  9. You can change some parameters and generate some other periods, or press Close to exit the screen.
