Short-term Items: Operations

The Operations tab within the Short Term items allows for the definition of operations, which can later be used to define production cycles.

Field Description
Operation Type the name for the operation.
Style/color Click on this cell to display the color/pattern form. Select the color/pattern that will be used when displaying cyclic tasks on the bar chart.
Accrual method Click on this cell to display the Accrual Method form.

This form displays all properties that have been defined for the project. It allows you to define how these properties will be accrued over the different operations when applied to cyclical tasks.

e.g. you may want to accrue Tons only on the haulage operation, rather than on drilling or blasting. If setup this way, the Crosstab report would show the Tons only whenever the haulage operation of a cyclic task takes place.

The different options are:

  • Over all operations - spreads the selected production field over all operations, i.e. over the entire task. This is the same as would occur for a non-cyclic task.
  • Exclude this operation - the selected production field is not reported for this operation.
  • Over this operation - spreads the selected production field over this operation only.
  • At end of operation - accrues the selected production field at the end of this operation.

Note Note that these options apply to all operations simultaneously, i.e. if you want to spread Tons over the drilling operation, you cannot spread it over the haulage operation as well. In this case you could just spread it over all operations. This means that if you set the accrual method for a property on a particular operation, it will most likely have an effect on how it is accrued on other operations.

Description This is an optional field. Provide a short description of the defined operation.
