Task Information: Date Fields

To access this screen:

  • Display the Task Information screen and select the Date Fields tab.

Date fields are useful in your project as they can be used to report date-related information. Production, code, text and date fields are defined in order to capture the values for individual tasks. Usually the values are prepared in the external planning systems (such as Studio OP or Studio UG) used to generate schedule data for DTS. However, you can also modify some of these values directly in DTS.

Warning: Modifying production, code, text or date field values generated by external systems should be done judiciously to ensure that the schedules are not out of synch with the planning data. However there should be no problem to change the values for fields where no data came via the external planning system.

Like code and text fields, date fields can also be calculated using formula (such as date 1 plus duration 1, for example). Date fields can be associated with tasks using this Task Information screen. See Add a Date Field.

The Date Fields screen lets you associate date field values with a task. For each Date Field, use the calendar to pick a date Value. You can also choose to ignore any formulae associated with the date field using Ignore formula.
