Organizing Tasks
The task list can be organized into a tree structure using one of the following methods:
- Creating permanent summary tasks with a group of child tasks.
- Using task grouping to temporarily sort and group tasks into a tree based on the specified field values.

Tip: Summary tasks can be used to "roll-up" the task list into more manageable sections.
Summary tasks summarize many task fields, including:
- The start date of a summary is the earliest of the start dates of all its child tasks.
- The finish date of a summary is the latest of the finish dates of all its child tasks.
- The value for a non-weighted production field of a summary task is the sum of values of all its child tasks.
- The value for a weighted production field of a summary task is the weighted average of the values of all its child tasks.
- The total cost of a summary is the sum of the total cost of all its child tasks.
