Extrude a Feature
- On the Modelling ribbon tab, in the Create group, click Extrude Feature.
The Extrude Feature panel displays.
- Select a Feature class.
- Name the Output feature class.
- Select whether to display the mode in an existing Local scene or <CREATE NEW SCENE>.
- If <CREATE NEW SCENE> is selected, name the New Local scene.
- Select the source to Get base Z value from.
- Select the Base elevation source.
- Edit the Elevation distance granularity as required.
Elevation distance granularity defines the spacing used to create new input nodes along each segment of the input line. This increases the granularity of points derived from the elevation layer. A smaller value produces more accurate results but increases processing time, while a larger value speeds up processing with less precision. If the granularity is set to 0, no additional points are added.
- Select the source to Get extruded Z value from.
- Enter the Extruded Z value. This is a fixed height value to apply to the objects being extruded. A negative value reverses the extrusion direction.
- Select the Dip Direction type from:
- Dip Direction—Default
- Strike (RHR)
- Select the Dip Direction mode from:
- Value—Default
- Column
- Enter the Dip Direction value. Default—0
- Select the Dip mode from:
- Value—Default
- Column
- Enter the Dip value. Default—90
- Select whether the Downwards Dip is negative.
- Click Run.
