Create a Legend from a Layer

1. On the Legend ribbon tab, in the Layer group, click Layer to Legend.

   The Geoprocessing panel displays the Layer to Legend parameters.

2. Select the Map that contains the layer to create the legend.
3. Select the Feature layer.
4. For Create from, select which features are used to create the legend:
   • All features in layer
   • Selected Features in layer
   • Symbology used by layer
5. Select the Column used as the attribute field for the legend.
6. If the legend is numeric, enter the number of rows as the Numeric legend entry count.
7. Name the Legend.
8. Click Run.
