Create an Outcrop Mapper Project

Activity Steps

  1. Create a new ArcGIS Pro project.
  2. On the Discover ribbon tab, in the Tools group, click Outcrop Mapper Tool.

    The Outcrop Mapper Tool panel displays.

  3. Click the Manage tab.
  4. Set the Coordinate Reference system.
  5. Click Create outcrop project.

    A 2D map displays all the capture points and image rays of the outcrop. Discover for ArcGIS Pro also creates a OutcropMapper.gdb and Section_Template.gdb if you do not already have a drillhole project.

  6. To add a Z surface:
    1. Click the folder icon.
    2. Set the File Type to Rasters (All Local types).
    3. Browse for and select the topography (elevation) file.
    4. Click OK.
  7. Click Apply.
