Configure Project Settings

Activity Steps

  1. Tap the menu icon. Main menu icon.
  2. Tap Settings.

    The Settings menu displays.

  3. On the General tab, update the following settings as required.
    • Select the GPS interval (seconds)—Set the GPS interval for data capture and location update.
    • Enter a value for the Waypoint buffer (m)—Set the buffer distance (radius) for the waypoint tool. A small buffer may be needed for locating a small target, a large buffer may be needed for locating a large area or target.
    • Enter a value for the GPS - Minimum distance for new node (m)—Set the radius for creating new points or nodes when using GPS capture.
    • Enter a value for the Digitizing - Minimum distance for new node (m)—Set the radius for creating new points or nodes when using freehand capture. This prevents duplicate nodes when stationary.
    • Select whether to Re-center map when adding GPS nodes.
    • Select whether to Re-center map when using Waypoint navigator.
    • Select whether to Use true north (geographic north)—Toggle using true north when capturing structural bearings. Magnetic declination is automatically calculated from your current position.
    • Enter a value for the GPS - Number of points to average—Set a number for average amount of points collected when using GPS point collection.
    • Select whether to Autosave photos to gallery.
    • Picklist display option—Select Code & Description or Code.
    • Reference Object Drawing Mode—Select Crosshair or Manual.
  4. On the Measurements tab, update the following settings as required.
    • Measurement unit—Select from meter, kilometer, mile, foot, inch or yard.
    • Area unit—Select from square meter, square centimeter, are, hectare, square kilometer, square foot, square yard, acre or square mile.
    • Speed unit—Select from km/h, m/s, mph, knots or ft/s.
  5. On the Map Tools tab, select whether to display the following tools.
    • Scale bar
    • Zoom controls
    • Map types
    • Information panel
  6. On the Location Search tab, select whether to display the following tools.
    • Flash—Toggle flashing search results. When enabled, the object will flash orange four times.
    • Pan—Toggle panning to selected search results.
    • Pan & Zoom—Toggle panning and zooming to selected search results.
  7. On the Toolbar tab, select whether to display the following tools on the toolbar.
    • Geofence
    • Location search
    • Structural compass
    • Stereonet
    • Tracking
    • Compass
    • Ruler
    • Waypoint navigator
    • Battery
  8. On the Geofence tab, select whether to display the following settings.
    • Alert do not enter—Displays an alert when you enter a geofenced zone.
    • Alert do not exit—Displays an alert when you exit a geofenced zone.
    • Warning on entry/exit—Displays an alert when you exit and enter a geofenced zone.
    • Sound—Toggle on to hear a sound alert when you enter a geofenced zone.
    • Message—Toggle on for a message to display when you enter a geofenced zone.
    • Map Flash—Toggle on for the geofence object to flash when you enter a geofenced zone.
  9. Select whether to connect an External GPS.
    • Device—Select the Bluetooth GNSS receiver device to connect to.
  10. On the Coordinate projections tab, configure the Coordinate projection as required.
    1. Tap Coordinate projection.

      The Favourite projections window displays.

    2. Tap Add projection.
    3. Select the projection.
    4. Tap Back.
    5. Select the Coordinate format.
  11. Close the Settings menu by tapping the cross icon.Cross icon
