Thematic Mapping

Thematic mapping is a technique that assists in identifying trends in your data by altering the color of individual objects.. Discover Mobile enables thematic mapping for point, line and polygon objects based on the object's attributes. Thematics are divided into three types; ranged numeric, individual value and numeric.

• Ranged numeric—Numbers between a value range will be assigned a color.
• Individual value—Unique text values from a character field will be assigned a color.
• Numeric—Unique number values from numeric fields will be assigned a color.

Thematic maps must be created in Discover Mapinfo or Discover for ArcGIS Pro with the Picklist Manager or Legend Editor.

Transferring Thematic Maps to your Mobile Device

To assign a thematic map to a layer:

1. Select the point layer and make it visible by tapping the eye icon.
2. Tap the style icon.

   The Layer Style tab displays.

3. Select the Theme Style tab.
4. Select the Theme.
5. Select the Field.
6. Tap Apply.
