Uninstall Previous Versions of Fusion

Before you uninstall any version of Fusion, see Back up the Central Database in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and Back up a Local Database in the Fusion Portal. Backing up your databases ensures that data is recovered if a user forgets to check in all drillholes and samples stored in the local database. These backups are important because installing Fusion XI replaces the local database with a blank template, overwriting any existing data.

Note: Any existing version of Fusion (Fusion 9 or Fusion X) must be uninstalled before installing Fusion XI.

To uninstall previous versions of Fusion:

  1. Select Windows » Settings » Apps » Installed apps.

Note: For Windows 10, select Windows » Settings » Apps » Apps & features.

  2. Locate the older version of Fusion.
  3. Select the ... icon.
  4. Click Uninstall.

Note: After uninstalling the software, check if the C:\Program Files (x86)\Datamine\GDMS folder remains on the system. If it does, delete it.

Note: If Fusion X was installed on your system, an older version of the API may still exist after the uninstall. Search the list of Installed Apps for Datamine Fusion ExternalTransferApi and uninstall the API. The new version of the API is not installed with Fusion XI if an older version is already detected on the system. To ensure a successful installation, you must uninstall any previous version of the API before installing Fusion XI.
