Using a site license (Datamine)

Note: This page applies to client workstations connecting to a remote license server. If you are setting up the server, refer to Activating a Datamine site license

When your organization uses a shared Datamine license server, your license is distributed across the network via the Datamine License Manager.

In this setup, no local activation is required on your machine — you only need to configure your client to connect to the central server.

Connecting to the license server

When you first launch Isatis.neo, choose Datamine License Services as your licensing system.

Then follow these steps:

  1. Open the Datamine License Manager application from your Start menu.
  2. Go to Tools > Remote Servers Options…
  3. Check Use Remote Servers
  4. Add the name or IP address of your license server, and the appropriate port number (check with your IT team).
  5. Click OK to apply and close the dialog.

The license will now be served from the network license pool each time you launch Isatis.neo.

Note: You must run the application in Administrator mode to add or edit remote server settings. Right-click the shortcut and select Run as Administrator before launching the Datamine License Manager.

Notes

  • You must be connected to your organization's internal network (or VPN) to retrieve the license.
  • The Datamine License Service must be running on the server.
  • If all licenses are in use, you will not be able to run Isatis.neo.

Troubleshooting

If you cannot connect to the license server:

  • Check that the hostname/IP and port number are correct.
  • Verify that your firewall or proxy settings allow communication with the license server.
  • Contact your IT team or Datamine Support for assistance.
