User Interface General Principles

This section describes common activities that apply to many MineMarket objects.

Mouse and Keyboard Navigation

Using a mouse is required for some functionality in MineMarket; for example, (right-click) context menus, drag-and-drop actions and selecting tabs on a screen.

MineMarket includes some keyboard navigation to speed up data entry, particularly in drop-down lists and tables.

In drop-down lists, press:

• Up, Down, Page Up and Page Down to move between list items
• Right and Left to expand and collapse categories
• Space to toggle a highlighted check box
• Tab to confirm the selection and move out of the field or table cell
• Delete or Backspace (or select the blank or (None) option) to clear the field or table cell

For filtering list items, see Select Items in Drop-down List Fields. For list fields that can be filtered, press:

• Esc to close the drop-down list but stay in the field for text entry
• Tab to enter the list to make a manual selection
• Shift+Tab to keep the drop-down list open but return to the field for text entry
• Enter to select the option if you have entered enough text so that only one option displays
• Delete or Backspace to clear the text filter, but retain any checked multi-select items

In tables of numerical data; for example, sample results, press:

• Up, Down, Left and Right, or Tab and Shift+Tab to move between table cells
• Ctrl+V to paste data copied from another application, such as a spreadsheet

In tables with a mixture of cell types; for example, rate details in service contracts, press Tab to move to the next cell or open a drop-down list.
