Create a Product

Security Note: You need the Allow product maintenance security right in the Products domain security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

1. Select the Material panel in the Solution Explorer.
2. Expand the Products node.
3. Right-click a product category and select New » Product from the menu.

   The Product displays.

4. Complete the following fields as required.
   • Name
   • Product Basis—Select from Bulk Only, Packages Only or Both.
   • Forward Curve—Used in invoice revaluations if a fixed price in product-based quotation pricing is not approved. See Invoice Revaluation. Select from the forward curves defined in the Pricing Editor.
   • Description—The maximum length is 255 characters.
   • Colour—Used in the 3D Transaction Viewer when displaying transactions by Stacked Product or Movement Product. Select from a palette of basic colours, preconfigured web colours and system (Windows) colours. In the palette of basic colours, right-click a colour in the bottom two rows to customise a colour with hue/saturation/luminosity or red/green/blue values.
   • Product Code
   • Product Type—Select from the Product Type list items defined in the List Editor.
   • Material Type—Select from the material types defined on the Material panel of the Solution Explorer.
   • Allowed Transformations—Products or brands that can be transformed by some process into this product. Limits the products that can be specified in the preferred blend of a quota or despatch order. Select from the products and brands defined on the Material panel of the Solution Explorer and that have the same material type as the product.
   • Main Analyte
   • Markets—In which the product is sold, traded or hedged. Select from the markets defined in the Market/Commodity Editor.

   Note: Density and angle of repose fields are specific to 3D Stockpile Modelling.

5. Click Save.
