Create a Stockpile within a Stockyard

Stockyards can be modelled with WAG stockpiles, FIFO stockpiles or LIFO stockpiles.

Security Note: You need the following security rights for this activity:
Allow stockyard maintenance in the Supply Chain user group security rights group
Allow stockpile maintenance in the Stockpiles domain security rights group

Activity Steps

  1. Select the Supply Chain panel in the Solution Explorer.
  2. Expand the Supply Chain » Business Area node.
  3. To create a stockpile in the stockyard, right-click a stockyard and select New » [Stockpile Type] from the menu.

    The WAG Stockpile, FIFO Stockpile or LIFO Stockpile displays.

  4. Update the stockpile Name if required.
  5. Select the Current State tab.
  6. Enter the Opening Date. You cannot make transactions to or from the stockpile before the opening date.
  7. Select the Details tab.
  8. Select the Current Product from the products and brands defined on the Material panel of the Solution Explorer.
  9. Select the Metre Marks tab.
  10. Right-click and select New from the menu.
  11. Complete the following fields.
    • Stock Row
    • Start Metre—Defaults to the stock row Start Metre; however, this may be changed to reflect the fact that multiple stockpiles may exist in the stock row.
    • End Metre—The meterage selected cannot contain any dead zones.
    • Start Date—Date from which the stockpile can be found in the stock row within the defined start and end metre marks.
    • End Date—Date up to which the stockpile can be found in the stock row within the defined start and end metre marks.
  12. Click Save.
  13. To view the stockyard breakdown:
    1. Open the Stockyard.
    2. Select the Breakdown tab.
    3. Select the Display Date in the Criteria field group to match a date that the stockpile exists in the stockyard.
  14. To view stockpiles in the stockyard that have no metre marks defined:
    1. Open the Stockyard.
    2. Select the Unassigned Stockpiles tab.
