Move Discrete Units

Security Note: You need the Allow discrete unit maintenance security right in the Supply Chain user group security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

  1. Open the Movement Explorer.
  2. Select the Package Movements or Package Group Movements tab.
  3. Right-click in the table and select New from the menu.

The Discrete Units Movement Creation screen displays.

  4. Enter the following search criteria as required.
    • Start Date—Limit the search by the latest Activity Date.
    • End Date
    • Product—Select from the products and brands defined on the Material panel of the Solution Explorer and that have their Product Basis set to Packages Only or Both.
    • Package Type—Select from the package types defined on the Supply Chain panel of the Solution Explorer.
    • Name—Text searches are case-sensitive with SQL databases with a case-sensitive collation and with all Oracle databases.
    • Location—Select from the discrete unit locations, discrete unit divisions and despatch locations defined on the Supply Chain panel of the Solution Explorer. Despatch locations are rail sidings, truck despatch locations, barge terminals and port locations.
    • Batch—Text searches are case-sensitive with SQL databases with a case-sensitive collation and with all Oracle databases.
    • Display Package Groups—Select from Active (default), Inactive and All.
    • Rejected Packages Display Method—Select from:
      • Exclude Rejected Packages (default)
      • Show Only Rejected Packages
      • Show All Packages
  5. Click Search.

Packages matching the criteria display on the Packages tab. Recycled packages do not display.

Package groups matching the criteria display on the Package Groups tab.

  6. Enter default values for the movements by completing the following fields.
    • Default Start Date
    • Default End Date
    • Movement Flow—Select from the movement flows defined on the Supply Chain panel of the Solution Explorer. If the location is included in the search criteria, only the movement flows that have this location as the source location display. If only one movement flow exists for this location, MineMarket selects it by default. When a movement flow is selected, if a location has not been included in the search criteria, MineMarket sets Location to the source location of the movement flow. If the movement flow has an assigned shift definition, MineMarket updates the Default Start Date and Default End Date.

Example: Given a current date of 04/08/2021, and a 12-hour shift definition assigned to the movement flow, with a Day shift (starting at 06:00:00 and ending at 17:59:59) and a Night shift (starting at 18:00:00 and ending at 05:59:59). The start and end date and times are 04/08/2021 06:00:00 and 05/08/2021 05:59:59 (with the end time being on the next day). If the start date is set back to another date, the end date is automatically updated to reflect the total period (for example, 1 day).

    • Default Destination Location—Select from the discrete unit locations, discrete unit divisions and despatch locations defined on the Supply Chain panel of the Solution Explorer. Only the locations and discrete unit divisions applicable to the search Location and default Movement Flow display.

Note: These values (and the default despatch order if applicable) are applied to each package or package group selected for the movement. The End Date for each movement must be after the latest activity date of the selected package or package group.

  7. To associate package movements with a despatch order, see Search for a Despatch Order to Add to a Transaction, Movement or Package Group. This step is not applicable to moving package groups.

      2. Uncheck Selected next to the package group.

        A message displays.

      3. Click No to leave the child packages or child package groups selected.
