Configure Supply and Demand Plan Planned Product Details

The default forecast quality is used for calculations on the Whiteboard tab of the supply and demand plan if no actual forecast quality is available for the planning period.

Security Note: You need the Allow Supply and Demand Plan Configuration security right in the Planning domain security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

  1. Open the SD Plan Configuration screen.
  2. Select the Planned Products and Groups tab.
  3. Select a product in the Products field group.

    The product details display in the Details for Product field group. If the product specifications were imported when the product was added to the supply and demand plan, the specifications display in the Default Forecast Quality table.

  4. Update the Quantity UOM if required. Select from the Mass units defined in the Unit Conversion Editor.
  5. If the product specifications were not previously imported, or if they have been changed in the product definition and should be re-imported, right-click in the Default Forecast Quality table and select Import Current Specifications From Product from the menu.
  6. To add a new analyte to the product specifications:
    1. Right-click in the Default Forecast Quality table and select New from the menu.
    2. Expand the Analyte Definitions node.
    3. Select the analyte.

      Note: You can also drag individual analytes or analyte groups from the Solution Explorer to the Default Forecast Quality table.

  7. To modify the analyte specifications, update the following fields.
    • UOM—Unit of measure of the analyte value. Select from the Proportion units defined in the Unit Conversion Editor.
    • Analyte Value—Analyte value used as the default for the forecast quality data entry.
    • Use Calculated Value—Whether to use a calculated analyte value for planning purposes.
    • Calculation Formula—Calculated expression created in the Expression Editor and used to determine the analyte value for planning purposes if Use Calculated Value is checked.
  8. To limit the applicable train operators for this product:
    1. Right-click in the Train Operators table and select New from the menu.
    2. Select the train operator from the train operators configured on the Train Operators tab.

      Note: If no train operators are specified for the product, all of train operators configured on the Train Operators tab are applicable.

  9. Click Save.
