Set up a Supply and Demand Plan Category

Supply and demand plans are edited and viewed by plan categories. Before a supply and demand plan can be created, it is essential to first specify a relevant plan category where the plan can be placed. Every plan category may hold as many production and demand plans as required, where the production and demand plan is relevant to the category theme.

Security Note: You need the Allow Supply and Demand Plan Configuration security right in the Planning domain security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

1. Select the Supply Chain panel in the Solution Explorer.
2. Expand the Planning node.
3. Perform one of the following steps:
   1. To set up a top-level supply and demand plan category, right-click the SD Plan Categories node and select New » SD Plan Category from the menu.
   2. To set up a supply and demand plan sub-category, right-click a supply and demand plan category and select New » SP Plan Category from the menu.
4. Update the name of the supply and demand plan category node if required.
5. Click Save.
