View the Supply and Demand Plan Whiteboard

The Whiteboard displays unfulfilled scheduled shipments with an estimated time of railing (ETR) greater than or equal to the current date. If there is no ETR, then the estimated time of arrival (ETA) is used. If a scheduled shipment has an allocated actual shipment, that information is also displayed.

The configuration of the supply and demand plan determines which products and analytes display, and how they are grouped and ordered.

The required quantity of shipments is edited on the Scheduled Shipments tab.

The stored quantities of opening stocks are the quantities imported and potentially modified on the Opening Stocks tab.

The Whiteboard displays the calculated quantity of opening stocks. For the first planning period, the opening stock quantity is as specified on the Opening Stocks tab. For subsequent planning periods, the formula for the calculation of opening stocks is:

New Opening Stocks = Previous Opening Stocks + Planned Production - Total Supplied

Security Note: Assuming you can view the plan, no specific security right is required for this activity.

Activity Steps

  1. Open the SD Plan.
  2. Select the Whiteboard tab.

    The following columns display.

    • Name—Name of the scheduled shipment. Scheduled shipments are grouped by planning period. The planning period to which a shipment belongs is determined by the shipment’s applicable date. The applicable date is the ETR if available, or if there is no ETR, the ETA is used if available.
    • Vessel—Name of the vessel assigned to the scheduled shipment.
    • Contract—Name of the contract associated with the scheduled shipment.
    • Contract Product—Name of the contractual product set up within the specified contract. Hidden if Display Shipment Contract Product is unchecked on the SD Plan Configuration screen.
    • Comment—Comment about the scheduled shipment.
    • Required Quantity—Required quantity of the contract product.
    • ETA—Estimated time of arrival for the scheduled shipment.
    • ETL—Estimated time of loading for the scheduled shipment.
    • ETR—Estimated time of railing for the scheduled shipment.
    • CETA—Contract estimated time of arrival for the scheduled shipment.
    • CAVD—Coal availability date for the scheduled shipment.
    • Penalty/Bonus—Amount of the penalty or bonus for the scheduled shipment. Bonuses are positive values and penalties are negative values. The penalty/bonus contract charges specified within the contract are used to calculate the penalty or bonus for the scheduled shipment. If no penalty/bonus contract charges have been specified, the value displayed will be zero. The amount is in the primary currency specified in the contract.
    • Products—Amount of each product associated with the scheduled shipment. These amounts can be edited to compare the impact on available stocks per planning period. The penalties or bonuses can also be calculated for different scenarios. The products are arranged by product group, as specified on the SD Plan Configuration screen.
    • Quality—Quality of each analyte associated with the scheduled shipment. The analytes are arranged by analyte group, as specified on the SD Plan Configuration screen.
    • Opening Stocks—Quantity of the opening stocks for the planning period. The total quantity of all products displays, as well as the quantity per product. If no opening stocks have been specified, or if the calculated opening stock quantity is different from the stored opening stock quantity, the cell font colour is changed to blue and a tooltip displays more information.
    • Planned Production—Quantity of products for which production is planned for the planning period. The total quantity of all products is displayed, as well as the quantity per product.
    • Total Required
    • Total Supplied
    • Total Penalty/Bonus
  3. To display a tooltip with the outstanding supply quantity for a shipment, move the mouse pointer over the Required Quantity for that shipment.
  4. To display a tooltip with the specifications of an individual analyte, move the mouse pointer over the analyte Quality for that shipment.
  5. To display a tooltip with information about the stored quantity of opening stocks, where that differs from the calculated quantity, move the mouse pointer over the Opening Stocks row for the Product.
  6. To calculate the sum of cells with numerical data, select the cells.
