Set up an Equipment Category

Equipment items must belong to an equipment category or sub-category.

Security Note: You need the Allow equipment maintenance security right in the Equipment domain security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

  1. Select the Supply Chain panel in the Solution Explorer.
  2. Expand the Equipment node.
  3. Perform one of the following steps:
    1. To set up a top-level equipment category, right-click the Equipment Categories node and select New » Equipment Category from the menu.
    2. To set up an equipment sub-category, right-click an equipment category and select New » Equipment Category from the menu.
  4. Update the name of the equipment category node if required.
  5. Click Save.
