Set up an Incident Category

Incident definitions must belong to an incident category or sub-category.

Security Note: You need the Allow the user to maintain incident definitions security right in the Base Data user group security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

  1. Open the Incident Definition Editor.
  2. Perform one of the following steps:
    1. To set up a top-level incident category, right-click the Incident Categories node and select New from the menu.
    2. To set up an incident sub-category, right-click an incident category and select New from the menu.
  3. Enter the Name of the incident category.
  4. Click Save.
