Set up a Route Category

Train routes, barge routes, truck routes and shipment routes must belong to a route category or sub-category. For example, separate route categories may be used to group the routes for each transport type.

Security Note: You need the Allow route specification security right in the Routes domain security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

1. Select the Transport panel in the Solution Explorer.
2. Perform one of the following steps:
   1. To set up a top-level route category, right-click the Routes node and select New » Route Category from the menu.
   2. To set up a route sub-category, right-click a route category and select New » Route Category from the menu.
3. Update the name of the route category node if required.
4. Click Save.
