Reclassify Products for a Despatch

This activity is applicable to trains, truck despatches, service trips and shipments, and presumes that a despatch order has been added to the despatch.

A premium or other contract charge can be limited to reclassified products. See Limit the Applicability of a Charge.

Security Note: Depending on the despatch type, you need the applicable security right for this activity:
• Allow train loading/unloading in the Trains domain security rights group
• Allow truck loading/unloading in the Trucks domain security rights group
• Allow barge loading/unloading in the Barge Despatches domain security rights group
• Allow shipment loading/unloading in the Shipments domain security rights group

Activity Steps

  1. Open the Train, Truck Despatch, Service Trip or Shipment.
  2. Select the route point within the Route Diagram in the Route field group where the loading or unloading occurred.
  3. Select the Product Reclassification tab; or for a shipment, the Product Reclassification sub-tab on the Logistics tab.
  4. Select the Despatch Order to which the reclassification applies. Select from the despatch orders associated with the despatch.
  5. Right-click in the Reclassification table and select New from the menu.
  6. Complete the following fields.
    • Product—Reclassified product. Select from the products and brands defined on the Material panel of the Solution Explorer.
    • Quantity
    • Unit—Select from the Mass units defined in the Unit Conversion Editor.
  7. To associate the product reclassification with bulk transactions:
    1. Select the Transactions tab.

      The transactions associated with the despatch display.

    2. Check Selected for the applicable transactions.
    3. Enter the reclassification Quantity and Unit for each selected transaction.

      Note: If there is a premium or other contract charge based on the reclassified product, only the Quantity specified in the Reclassification table is used in invoice calculations. The Quantity and Unit for transactions may be used in reports.

  8. To associate the product reclassification with package movements:
    1. Select the Package Movement tab.

      The package movements associated with the despatch display.

    2. Check Selected for the applicable package movements.
  9. To associate the product reclassification with package group movements:
    1. Select the Package Group Movement tab.

      The package group movements associated with the despatch display.

    2. Check Selected for the applicable package group movements.
  10. Click Save.
