Enter Results for a Single Analyte in an Assay Exchange
This activity is like entering results for multiple analytes. Use this activity if:
- Results only need to be entered for one analyte at a time.
- Analyte results should be archived so that re-assaying can occur.
Security Note: You need the Allow the user to maintain contract fulfillments security right in the Contracts domain security group for this activity. To edit the Seller Result of a sales contract or the Buyer Result of a purchase contract, you need the Allow the user to update both buyer and seller results in assay exchanges security right in the Contracts domain security rights group. However, even with this security right, if sample results require approval, these results are read-only in this activity.
Activity Steps
- Open the Sales Contract or Purchase Contract.
- Select the Contract Fulfilment node.
- Select the despatch order associated with the assay exchange. See Find Despatch Orders for Contract Fulfilment.
Note: Data must be saved prior to retrieving assays to ensure that assay retrieval can be done.
- Select the Final Analyte Results tab.
- Select the Analyte Definition from the drop-down list in the Final Analyte Results field group.
- Click Retrieve Assays.
If multi-lab sampling or assay exchange factoring applies to any of the analytes in the assay exchange, this button is only enabled on the Analyte Values Selection tab because the results must be approved first. See Approve Sample Results for an Assay Exchange.
If final assay results have already been entered for the despatch order, a confirmation message displays.
The results at the fulfilment location for the despatch order are retrieved; that is, any certificate values, or else sample values, or else the quality of material from the transactions. Any counter-party or umpire results that have been entered manually are also retrieved.
- For each sample:
- To exclude the sample from the weighted average calculations, uncheck Select Lot Sample. Default: Checked.
- For a sales contract, update the Seller Result if required and enter the Buyer Result.
- For a purchase contract, update the Buyer Result if required and enter the Seller Result.
If the Difference is within the defined Splitting Limits for the analyte, as defined in the Assay Rules in the applicable set of contract terms, MineMarket uses the Default Settlement Method to calculate the Final Result.
- If the total final result is in red text, one or more assays must be split or sent to an umpire:
- To split an assay, check Split.
The Final Result is the average of the buyer and seller results.
- To assign an umpire to provide an independent assay and apply umpire settlement rules:
- Select an Umpire from the umpires defined in the assay rules if required.
Note: If the assay rules specify that umpires are to be rotated automatically, enter the seller and buyer results for all samples first, and then click Assign Umpires.
- When the umpire's assay is available, enter the Umpire Date and Umpire Result.
MineMarket calculates the Final Result using the Between Buyer And Seller, Within One Splitting Limit or Outside Splitting Limit of the assay rules, depending upon the value of the Umpire Result with respect to the Seller Result and the Buyer Result.
The number of umpire decisions that were Won, Lost and Shared display.
Note: If the Between Buyer and Seller rule is Closest To Umpire, and the umpire assay value lies exactly in the middle of the buyer and seller assay values, the final assay result is the average of the buyer and seller assay values.
- If the umpiring fee is on a lot-by-lot basis, enter the Umpire Fee and Currency as required.
MineMarket calculates the Umpiring Cost. A positive number represents an umpiring win and a negative number represents an umpiring loss.
- Select an Umpire from the umpires defined in the assay rules if required.
- To split an assay, check Split.
- Enter the Status of each sample if required. Select from the Final Analyte Result Statuses list items defined in the List Editor.
- To clear the samples to be used for the assay exchange:
- Click Clear Assays.
This button also deletes any manually entered counter-party and umpire results.
A warning about data deletion displays.
- Click OK.
- Click Clear Assays.
- To archive the current analyte results used for the assay exchange and to allow a re-assay, click Re-Assaying.
The current analyte results are archived. Archived analytical results can be viewed on the Previous Analyte Result tab.
Note: In this situation, new lot samples need to be created in the despatch using a different sample template to that used to generate the original lot samples. This sample template must include analytes with a result type of a higher order than the result type used for the analytes in the original sample template. After the results are entered for the new lot samples, this activity can be used to retrieve them for the assay exchange.
- Click Save.
Note: Sample results for an individual analyte cannot be edited on a despatch or via the Sample Explorer if those results have been included in an assay exchange. Neither can the association of transactions with the sample be changed. That is, the sample's transaction cannot be unselected, and the sample cannot be associated with a different transaction.
