Specify an Address Commission for a Freight Contract

An address commission is the percentage of the freight cost that the ship owner recognises as attributable to the companies associated with the freight contract.

If the address commission percentage is defined:

  • A freight commission invoice is generated automatically with the address commission value when a new freight invoice is created for the freight contract. See Freight Commission Invoices.
  • A freight demurrage commission invoice is generated automatically with the address commission value when a new freight demurrage invoice is created for the freight contract. See Freight Demurrage Commission Invoices.

Security Note: You need the Allow contract maintenance security right in the Contracts domain security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

  1. Open the Freight Contract.
  2. Enter the Address Commission Percentage.
  3. Select whether to Include Negative Line Item Commission.

Whether to calculate commission on negative line items in the freight or freight demurrage invoice.

    If checked:

    • If the freight (demurrage) invoice line item value is positive, the freight (demurrage) commission is negative.
    • If the freight (demurrage) invoice line item value is negative, the freight (demurrage) commission is positive.

    If unchecked:

    • If the freight (demurrage) invoice line item value is positive, the freight (demurrage) commission is negative.
    • No freight (demurrage) commission is calculated for negative freight (demurrage) invoice line items.
    • If the freight (demurrage) invoice only has negative line items, no freight (demurrage) commission invoice is created.

    Default: Unchecked.
