User Groups

User groups allow users requiring the same MineMarket domain access and security rights to be grouped together.

The purpose of creating user groups is to specify the common tasks that the group can perform, such as whether a user can view specific menu items; view a train or shipment in the relevant despatch explorer; or modify or create contracts, vessels or other objects. Users must exist within a user group.

If a user group is assigned a domain, the users who are members of the user group will have their access to objects inherited from the domain. The security rights that specify the functionality that can be performed is then restricted or permitted for the user group.

If a user group is configured to have access to the Global Domain, the users within the user group will have access to all objects, but the security rights for the Global Domain can be restricted for that user group.

By default, MineMarket has an Administration user group. The Global Domain is a member of the Administration user group. Any users added to the Administration user group will be able to view all MineMarket objects and perform all MineMarket functions.

If more than one domain is added to a user group, and each user group domain has a different value for a security right (for example, contract maintenance), then preference is given to the optimistic value. This is also the case for the viewing of objects.

Users can create local user groups, but can modify only the local user groups that they created.
