Specify Extended Data Fields

Extended data fields are for site-specific numeric, date or string data that cannot be entered on the standard MineMarket screen for an object type.

Security Note: You need the Allow extensibility maintenance security right in the Options user group security rights group for this activity.

Activity Steps

  1. Open the Extended Data screen.
  2. Select the Extended Object. See Extensions, Mappings and Adding Functionality for a list of object types for which you can specify extended data fields.
  3. Select the type of data field to be used, using the next available data type from the Extension Fields.

    The available data types are:

    • Date
    • Int—Integer
    • Double—Double integer
    • Short String
    • Medium String
    • Long String
    • Boolean
    • BTTextListItem—Select from the available Text Lists, which will then allow the value to be selected from the items in the text list. A default list item can be defined.
  4. Complete the following fields.
    • Caption—Caption used to display the field in the Property Window when the object displays in the View Pane.
    • Category—Group in which the field displays on the Property Window when the object displays in the View Pane.
    • Copy Info—Whether to copy the extended data values when the MineMarket object is duplicated. This setting is only applicable to the following object types:

    • Used—Whether the extended data field displays on the Property Window tab on the Menu panel when the object displays in the View panel. If True, the extended data field is also dynamically added to the database view for the object. Database views are accessed via the SQL Server or Oracle database software. If False, the extended data field does not display for the object.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Assign Extended Data Security Rights for a User Group as required.
