Enter logsheet data

Most logsheet data is populated automatically via integration with other systems such as a data historian, distributed control system (DCS) or laboratory information management system (LIMS). Data can also be manually entered into logsheets if required; for example, for stock take, reconciliation or to override data such as assay values.

Enter logsheet data (modern)

Note: See Modern logsheets for tips and general guidance for the modern logsheet interface.

Activity Steps

    1. In the Start Date - End Date field, click the calendar icon. Calendar icon (modern)
    2. Select a date range.
    3. Click Apply.

Note: Mapped Start Date & Time and Mapped End Date & Time are read-only fields that display the show the actual start and end of the selected date range.

Note: A logsheet can display up to 100 rows of data. If your selected date range exceeds this limit, only the first 100 rows display.

The logsheet data for the selected date range displays. All sections and subsections display by default.

  3. Select sections and subsections to display:
    1. Click the Section / Subsection field to open the list.
    2. Expand a section to show its subsections.
    3. Select or deselect the check boxes as required.

    The Edit pop-up displays.

  5. For numeric cells:
    1. Enter a numeric value.

Note: Text and mathematical symbols (for example, < or >) are not permitted. For decimal values, include the leading zero before the decimal separator (for example, 0.5 or 0,5).

    2. Enter an Audit Comment if required. Audit comments are attached to the specific data item you update and should explain the reason for the change. They are recorded in the Audit Log.

Note: When you edit multiple values in the same logsheet, your previous audit comment automatically displays in the next comment field. Edit it as required.

  6. For text cells, enter a Comment. Some logsheets include data entry cells for general text comments. Text comments added within a logsheet are visible only when you view the logsheet. Unlike the audit comments attached to numeric values, text comments are not recorded in the Audit Log.
  7. Click Save.

The Edit pop-up closes. A Logsheet data saved successfully message displays.

    • Data has been refreshed.—Displays when the logsheet updates with new or recalculated data. This message may display multiple times if your changes cause the server to process several updates.

  6. If required, click Edit to make data entry cells editable.

Note: The Edit button is generally located at the bottom of the logsheet screen. You may need to scroll down to find it.

Note: If you enter multiple data values in the same section (for example, the override values for all assays in the flotation feed) and add one audit comment before saving, that audit comment is attached to all the values. If each value requires its own audit comment (for example, because the reason for the change is different), save each value and its specific audit comment before you enter the next value.

  9. Enter Comments if required. Some logsheets include data entry cells for general text comments. Text comments added within a logsheet are visible only when you view the logsheet. Unlike the audit comments attached to numeric values, text comments are not recorded in the Audit Log.

Warning: If you go to another screen or logsheet section without clicking Save, your data entry will be lost.
