Delete discrete unit data

You cannot delete a discrete unit transaction that includes discrete units that are in subsequent transactions. For example, you cannot delete a transaction that moved a container to a storage location if that container was subsequently included in a transaction that shipped the container to a buyer. You must delete subsequent transactions for the same discrete unit(s) before you can delete an earlier transaction.

If the Discrete Unit ID for the deleted transaction is not used in any other groups or transactions, the ID remains unique and can be used for another transaction. For example, if you delete a transaction that represents the creation of a new gold bar, the deleted bar number could be assigned to the next bar.

When you delete a transaction, the discrete units go back to their original status in the source location. For example, you delete a transaction that moved a group of six gold bars from a production area to a safe. The bars go back to the production area. In the Location Manager for the production area, the bars are listed as separate units and the group they were moved in no longer exists.
