Group discrete units

To move multiple discrete units between locations in one transaction, you must first group them in their source location using the DU template configured for the destination location.

Activity Steps

  1. Open the required Discrete Unit screen.
  2. In the Discrete Unit List for the required Location, find the discrete units you want to group. Apply a filter if required:
    • Show All— Shows all DUs currently at the location.
    • Show Top Active—Shows only DUs that you can interact with. For example, if the Discrete Unit List includes grouped DUs, only the row for the group (Parent) is shown. The Child DUs are not shown, because you cannot do operations to them until you ungroup them.
  3. Select the checkboxes for the Discrete Units you want to group. To select all, use the checkbox in the header row.
  4. Enter a New Group Name. This name is used as the unique identifier (Discrete Unit ID) for the group.

  5. Select the Template. In most configurations, the drop-down list contains only one template option.
  6. Click Group Discrete Units.

The group displays as a new row in the Discrete Unit List. DUs in the group are listed as Children. Data shown for the group (such as mass and metal content) are the totals or weighted averages. The Grouping Status and Parent updates for each DU in the group.
