Update dated calculation constants

A dated calculation constant is a fixed or standard value that can be defined for use in calculations and subsequently updated if required. When a dated calculation constant is changed, the new value takes effect as of the specified date and remains in effect until the value is updated again.

For example, you might define a dated calculation constant for the kilolitre volume of a flotation tank. If the flotation tank is replaced, you would update the dated calculation constant with the new tank's volume and the date from which the new tank is in operation. The new value is used for all calculations from that date. Dated calculation constants may also be used for known ore quality attributes. If ore being processed has (for example) a consistent moisture content of 3% and an Ag assay range of 4% -6% , you could define these attributes as constants. When the ore quality changes, these values and ranges can be updated.

Dated calculation constants can be used for JKMetAccount integrations with Production Accounting; for example, to define standard deviation.

If parts of the plant are taken off-line or shut down, specific dated calculation constant values are used to represent this in the Production Accounting system.

Activity Steps

  1. Open the required Dated Calculation Constants screen.
  2. Select the date or time period using the Year, Month and Day fields.
  3. Select the Shift if required.

Note: Use the arrow buttons to select the previous or next period. Date selector previous period button Date selector next period button

  4. Click Submit.

The dated calculation constant data for the selected date or time period displays.

  5. Select a logsheet section from the list if required.
  6. If required, click Edit to make data entry cells editable.

Note: The Edit button is generally located at the bottom of the logsheet screen. You may need to scroll down to find it.

  7. Update the dated calculation constant values as required.

Note: Enter numeric values only. Text and mathematical symbols (for example, < or >) are not permitted. For decimal values, you must include the leading zero before the decimal separator (for example, 0.5 or 0,5).

  8. Enter Audit Comments if required. Audit comments may be used to record why the value has been updated.
  9. Click Save.

Warning: If you go to another screen or logsheet section without clicking Save, your data entry will be lost.

Once updated, the new dated calculation constant value automatically takes effect for all calculations from the specified date onwards (or until it is updated again).
