Upload data with the Discrete Unit Data Uploader
The Discrete Unit Data Uploader is customised by Datamine consultants for your site's Production Accounting discrete unit configuration. If a Discrete Unit Data Uploader has been provided, the Data worksheet layout is specific to the transaction data entry grid(s) for which the file is configured.
Discrete unit data uploads are processed via the IMS Integration Hub. Unlike Logsheet Data Uploaders, Discrete Unit Data Uploader files do not include a function to send the data. Once data has been added, the file must be copied to the folder location from which the IMS Integration Hub processes files.
Note: To access and use the Discrete Unit Data Uploader, your computer must be on the same network as the Production Accounting Database Server.
Activity Steps
- Open the Discrete Unit Data Uploader file from its saved location.
- Select the Data worksheet tab.
Note: The worksheet tab may have a different name; for example, the name of the discrete unit screen or data entry grid.
- Enter the data to be uploaded. The required data and data entry formats depend on the transaction data entry grid for which the worksheet is configured.
- Click Save or Save As to create a copy of the file.
- Close the file.
- Copy the file into the folder used for IMS Integration Hub file uploads. The network location and name of this folder depends on your site's IMS Integration Hub configuration.
The IMS Integration Hub processes the file. The file moves to either the Processed log folder or Error log folder, depending on whether the data processes successfully or there are errors.
- Open the file from the Processed or Error log folder.
The Results column on the Data worksheet displays success or error messages for each row.
