Log in and log out

The Production Accounting client is a web-based application that you access from a web browser. See the System Requirements for Production Accounting for supported web browsers.

Like for any other web address, you can create shortcuts (for example, from the computer desktop, disk folders, or within a web browser) to access the Production Accounting application.

The log in and log out steps for the Production Accounting web client depend on your site's configuration and whether Microsoft Active Directory is used to manage access to your site's systems and applications.

Note: Access to your site's Production Accounting web application is via a unique URL that is configured during your Production Accounting implementation. See the custom documentation supplied to your site for the correct URL.

Automatic login (Active Directory)

The Production Accounting application can be configured to use Microsoft Active Directory groups to manage user access and permissions. If your site uses Microsoft Active Directory, you are logged in automatically when you access the Production Accounting application.

To log in automatically (if Active Directory is configured):

  1. Open the Production Accounting application URL in a supported web browser.

You are logged in automatically. The Production Accounting Home screen displays. The primary menu displays all items to which you have access. Your username displays in the top right of the screen.

Application login (manual)

If your site requires manual login, your login credentials are specific to the Production Accounting application. For help with your Production Accounting manual login username and password, contact your local IT support.

To log in manually:

  1. Open the Production Accounting application URL in a supported web browser.

The Home screen displays. The primary menu displays the Home item only.

  2. Enter your Username.
  3. Enter your Password.
  4. Click Login.

The Home screen refreshes. The primary menu displays all items to which you have access. Your username displays in the top right of the screen.

Application logout

For data security purposes, a user’s session times out after 20 minutes of inactivity. If your site uses Microsoft Active Directory, you are automatically logged in again when you return to the system. Otherwise, you must log in again manually. When you are automatically logged in again after a time-out, you must reload some screens (for example, the discrete unit Location Manager) from the menu to continue to use them.

For security purposes, best practice is to log out when you finish using Production Accounting.

To log out:

  1. Click Home on the primary menu.

    The Home screen displays.

  2. Click Log Out.

Note (users who log in automatically via Active Directory only): If you log out but Production Accounting is still open in your web browser, you can log in again without manually entering your credentials. Leave the Username and Password fields blank and click Auto Login.
