Configure the Mining Analysis
Activity Steps
- Open the Mining Analysis Screen.
- Click the Configure icon on the right hand toolbar.
The Configure panel displays.
- Configure the following options as required:
- Mine Plan Type – Select from the drop-down list of available plan types.
- Mine Plan – Select from drop-down list of available plans.
Note: Available plans are for the selected Mine Plan Type only.
- Primary Measure – Options include measures for wet/ dry tonnes, volume and metal. Only one option can be selected and this displays as the table's first column.
- Secondary Measure – Grade. Only one option can be selected and this displays as the table's second column.
- Direct Feed Grouping – Defines how the direct feed material is grouped (source location, source material type / group, source lithology type / group or destination crusher / group).
- Stockpile Grouping – Defines how the stockpiling (where source is a block and destination is an ore stockpiles) movements are grouped (source location, source material type / group, source lithology type / group, destination stockpile / group).
- Waste Movement Grouping – Defines how the waste movements (where source is a block and destination is a waste dump) are grouped (source location, source material type / group, source lithology type / group, destination stockpile / group).
Note: The Mine Production Categories that are selected in the Configure Display panel determine which metrics can be grouped. See Configure the Mining Analysis Display Options.
- In the Mine Plan Compliance field group:
- Select an option to Group Compliance Location by. Use this option to group compliance for a defined source location level.
Note: Compliance metrics should only be grouped to the lowest level of the mine plan. When too many locations are selected (i.e. blocks) for a period, it is better practice to filter the main period and location filters to limit the returned records.
- Select whether to Calculate compliance using:
- Survey – Survey data is considered the most accurate, but is only available when a survey is completed.
- Dispatch – Dispatch (haulage) data is readily available but often considered less accurate. It is a good interim indicator until a survey becomes available.
Note: See Mine Plan Compliance Calculations below for more information.
- Select an option to Group Compliance Location by. Use this option to group compliance for a defined source location level.
- Click Apply to update the screen's chart or table and keep the Configure panel open.
- Click Apply & Close to update the screen's chart or table and close the Configure panel.
Mine Plan Compliance Calculations
The Mine Plan Compliance section of the Configure Panel calculates the following compliance metrics:
- Planned
- Planned and not Mined
- Planned and Mined
- Mined and not Planned
- Mined
The result indicates to what extent your mining complies with the relevant plan. In essence, the higher the result, the better the mining compliance.
An example of how the metrics are calculated is presented in the table below.
|

Scenario 1 (Planned > 0, Mined > 0) |
Scenario 2 (Planned = 0, Mined > 0) |
