Mining Analysis

The level of execution or compliance against a mine plan can be measured in two ways.

Temporal measurements – Time-based performance tracking is a common practice in open pit mining. These metrics typically focus on short-term targets—such as daily, weekly or monthly progress.

Spatial measurements – Spatial performance tracking focuses on where material is moved rather than when. These area-based metrics offer insight into the longer-term aspects of execution against the mine plan.

Implementing a spatial mine-to-plan compliance process is essential to ensure:

  • Long-term sustainable ore supply
  • Early identification of key issues that adversely impact production (such as ramp establishment, dewatering, drill-and-blast quality, pre-split and buffer blocks)
  • Achievement of planned mining flexibility

The Mining Analysis screen displays a breakdown of mined material by destination, through to crushers (direct feed), ore stockpiles and/or waste dumps. Ore grouping is configurable, allowing you to group by source location or any other relevant attribute. You can measure compliance using either dispatch or survey volumes, with results shown in a waterfall chart or as a table.
