Import Health

Import Errors occur when there are fundamental problems with the file or data source that prevent the import proceeding (for example, files are not the expected file type or files are not in the specified location). No records from the data source are imported if an import error is raised.

Validation Errors are errors in the data itself that prevent it from being imported (e.g. values out of range, closing dates earlier than opening dates, invalid Source and Destination, and so on). Only records that raise a validation error are prevented from being imported, valid records from the source are imported.

The Import Health Screen monitors the health of your imports and allows you to drill down to view any Import Errors or Validation Errors that occurred during the import process.

Notes:

This refers to imports that have occurred in the period specified in the setting Import Health Look Back Days (see Data Issue and Logging Settings), which is typically the last three days.

These errors are different to warnings or data issues, which are handled by the Data Health Screen.

The Import Health Screen displays an overview of the health of your most recent data imports. You can use the Import Type drop-down menu to specify which type of data import you are interested in.

You can also use the Import Status Menu to select whether to display some or all imports, depending on the status of the most recent import. This menu allows you to select:

  • All – All imports.
  • Completed – Imports that have completed successfully.
  • Failed – Imports that have failed.
  • Not Run – Imports that were scheduled but have not yet run.
