Spatial Polygon Group

The Spatial Polygon Group is used to define how the polygons that are displayed on the Spatial Analysis Screen are imported. Datamine consultants will set the appropriate option for the spatial polygon import. There are two options that can be checked or unchecked:

  1. Auto Close Polygon – The polygon is defined as a set of points (a point for each corner). For example, you may have a square shape with corners A, B, C, D. The polygon is formed by drawing lines between the corners (A -> B, B -> C, C-> D). If Auto Close is true, then the edge from the last corner back to the first (D->A) is also drawn, otherwise, it would be expected that point E was also imported with coordinates that match point A.
  2. Must Link to Entity – is about validation.

    1. If checked – Cannot import a polygon unless it matches a known entity (for example, a block in the system).

    2. If unchecked – The polygon is allowed in, even if it is not matched.
