Import Errors and Validations
During data import, Reconcilor can report two types of import-stage issues: import errors and data validation errors. Both indicate that imported data needs attention, but they affect the import process differently.
Import Errors
Import errors occur when there are fundamental problems with the file or data source that prevent the import proceeding (for example, files are not the expected file type or files are not in the specified location). No records from the data source are imported if an import error is raised and the import status displays as Failed.
Import Validation Errors
Validation errors are errors in the data itself that prevent it from being imported (for example, values out of range, closing dates earlier than opening dates, invalid source and/or destination, and so on). Only records that fail validation are prevented from being imported and display as Rejected. Records that pass validation are still imported and display as Accepted.
Errors in Import Health and Import Activity
The Import Health Screen and Import Activity Screen present these issues in different ways. Import Health summarises the latest import result for each import definition within the configured look-back period, while Import Activity shows the detailed history of individual import jobs and the error or validation information recorded for each job.
Note: These import-stage issues are different to warnings or data issues, which are handled by the Data Health Screen.
