Mapping

Mapping allows you to analyse the structure of a rock mass using a 3D image of a rock mass. The 3D image is an accurate model of the surface of the rock mass integrated with a visual image of the rock mass accurately registered with the 3D spatial data.

In Sirovision, mapping features allow you to:

  • Measure the orientation, position and extent of discontinuities.
  • Statistically analyse groups of measurements of discontinuity features.

All mapping features are located on the Mapping Menu. This section explains how to map planar and linear features on a 3D image of a rock mass and how to measure attributes of these features.
