Mineral Classification

Using mineral classification in Sirovision enables the mapping of all instances of a specific colour within the rock face, which can aid in estimating the overall volume of ore.

Activity Steps

  1. Open the Mapping menu.
  2. Select Mineral Classification in the Mineral field group.

    The Mineral Classification window displays.

  3. If you have multiple images loaded, select the image you want to use from the Select Image panel.
  4. Select the colours that you want to map by left-clicking on the image and dragging a box over the range of sample colours.

A coloured overlay displays over the areas on the image that match the selected colours.

  5. Refine the selected mineral region by dragging the Min Threshold and Max Threshold lines in the plots at the bottoms of the Mineral Classification window.

Tip: You can turn the colour overlay on and off by selecting the Show Mineral Distribution option at the bottom of the window.

  6. Click Extract Features.

The surface area is calculated for each colour-matched feature and displayed in the Table View Panel.

  7. Export the mineral classification features using the Export Wizard. See Exporting Data.
