Mapping

Mapping allows you to analyse the structure of a rock mass using a 3D image. The 3D image is an accurate model of the surface of the rock mass, integrated with a visual image of the rock mass, accurately registered with the 3D spatial data.

In Sirovision, mapping features allow you to:

  • Measure the orientation, position and extent of discontinuities.
  • Statistically analyse groups of measurements of the discontinuity features.

All mapping features are located on the Mapping Menu. This section explains how to map planar and linear features on a 3D image of a rock mass, and how to measure the attributes of these features.
