Import Micromine Data
This screen is displayed during the Micromine block model import process, and specifies coordinate field mapping, and optional filtering of data.
Note: The layout and contents of the dialog are dependent on the data type being imported: for example, strings, sections, points, outlines, grid, DTM, drillholes or block model.
Activity steps
-
Review the file's summary information. This includes the location, size and record count for the file being imported.
-
Before files containing geometry are imported, a match must be made between the incoming data fields, and an X, Y and Z reference. This mapping is typically performed automatically, but you should check and, if necessary, amend the field assignments in this section before importing.
-
If importing a block model, select the Block Size Fields (by default the block size field names have an '_' prefix).
-
Select the Data Fields to import. It is important to ensure that the minimum file specification for the file you are importing is satisfied by the relevant selections from this list, before importing.
-
If importing string data, define Join Fields. These represent the data column in the incoming file that dictates how string entities are joined together in the resulting object in memory.
-
If importing string data, select the String Field in the incoming file that represents a unique identifier for the resulting string object in memory. In most circumstances, this field should be set to the ID field in the incoming data - this ensures that point vertices are ordered correctly in the resulting file in memory.
-
Choose colour options using Colours.
-
Select Options to specify file reading options, such as how blank records or special values are handled. See Data Options.
-
To configure data labels, select Labels.
-
Click OK.
- If importing a file to a Studio project, the Import Files screen displays.
-
Use the Import Files screen:
-
Choose which Files to create and associate with your project.
-
Confirm the Import Fields for this operation.
-
If required, choose how to Rename Fields during import.
-
Click OK.
Files references are added to the project.
