Define Text Import Delimiters

This screen is displayed if the [Delimited] option was selected at the previous step to Define General Import or Export Settings. It is used to determine how data is separated (delimited) in the external text file.

Activity Steps

1. Choose the character that delimits values in your file to be imported.
   • Comma
   • Space
   • Tab
   • Semicolon
   • Other - Specify the character used.
2. Choose whether to Treat consecutive delimiters as one.
   1. If checked, all instances of one delimiter character following another are treated as one delimiter, for example '1,1,2,3' will be imported as '1,2,3'.
   2. If unchecked, data is imported as is.
3. Review the Preview of File. Data columns should appear correctly segregated for all records of the file.
4. Click Next to display the Data Format screen.
