Display and Edit Legends

This topics contains a range of activities relating to common legend editing tasks.

Display the Legends Manager.
Select a legend name from the Available Legends box.
Expand the legend to display the defined items.
Select a legend name - the Legend Properties display on the right. Alternatively, select a legend item in the Selected Legend Contents list to display the interval properties for editing.
Define the Legend Item Format. See Edit Legend Properties.

Display the Legends Manager.
Select a legend name from the Available Legends box.
Right-click and choose Copy from the context menu.
In the Available Legends list, click the appropriate legend category to highlight it.
Right-click and select Paste. A copy of the chosen legend will be inserted into the selected legend category list.

Display the Legends Manager.
Right-click a legend name in the Available Legends list. This should be the legend above the legend you wish to create.
Choose Insert Legend.
In the Legend Details pane, enter the Name of the new legend.
Right-click the new legend name in the Available legends list and choose Insert Legend Item.
In the Legend Properties pane, select Numeric or Alphanumeric from the Data Type drop-down list.
The Legend Item Description may be generated automatically from the interval values, or you can enter your own description - for example, a grade range of 2 to 4 could be labelled as "High Grade".
Set the new legend interval properties using the Legend Item Format options. See Edit Legend Properties.
