Insert Definition

To access this command:

  • Select Insert >> Definition >> More Definitions.

The commands contained in the displayed sub-menu can be used to add a column, or series of columns to the current data table. Column descriptions are added according to the selection made, for example, if a Strings definition is inserted, the minimum required columns for a strings table will be added (providing they don't already exist, in which case an error will be displayed to this effect).

For all cases except for the Block Model definition, columns will be added automatically, with the default values associated with each column (e.g. if a string definition is added to a non-geometric data table; XP, YP, ZP. GROUP, PTN and PVALUE columns will be added. XP, YP and ZP columns will be added to all rows in the existing table, with a default value of zero. GROUP will have a default entry of 1, and PTN and PVALUE will be zero. However, if columns already exist in the selected table, the current values will be preserved.

Tip: Undo this command using Edit >> Undo, or CTRL+Z.

Activity steps:

  1. Select the table definition closest to your requirements from the list.

  2. Click OK.

  3. For all definitions other than block models, columns are added automatically. If a Block Model definition is added, the Block Model Parameters screen displays.
