Studio Geo

Studio Geo is the ultimate tool for resource modellers and geologists.

Fine-tune your structural model quickly and easily, and update it whenever necessary. Whether you have new drilling data or field discoveries, Studio Geo enables you to connect to your ground data and process or reprocess models based on previous campaigns.

Ensure your modelling campaigns are capturing the latest field data with the flexible Drillhole Importer, and fine tune your data using effective drillhole coding and domain grouping tools.

Note: A demonstration project and data for Studio Geo can be found here after installing the product (assuming a standard installation path): C:\Database\DMTutorials\Projects\GeoTut.

At the heart of Studio Geo sits the Dynamic Modelling task. This brings together all the data importation and implicit modelling functions you need for resource modelling into a single reusable workflow. With this approach, it's always clear where your data came from and how it was modified along the way.

Note: Studio Geo generates Datamine files in the latest DMX format. You can still save data in the legacy DM format by setting the ".dm" format when interactively saving files, but all files generated by other functions are in the latest format.

Studio Geo Benefits

Smart Projects

Manage your campaign data easily and securely with the Studio project framework. Keep related data in the right place by creating a project file that can store both settings and data, including project archiving to tie everything up in a single file - perfect for sharing with others. Talking of sharing, your project can either be standard or MineTrust-enabled (see below), making data sharing even easier.

Import & Export Drivers

Studio Geo can integrate with a host of existing data formats including the ability to dynamically link to a drillhole database for real time updates. You can even access Datamine's powerful Drillhole Importer console for flexible and rapid data connection management.

Dynamic Structural Modelling

Studio Geo's proprietary modelling tools are unparalleled in the mining industry. Receiving exploration data via the highly capable Drillhole Importer console, and maintaining a live connection with it throughout the modelling campaign, the resulting models are geologically realistic and give downstream modelling and design functions the best possible start.

Studio EM can integrate with a host of existing data formats including the ability to dynamically link to a drillhole database for real time updates. You can even access Datamine's powerful Drillhole Importer console for flexible and rapid data connection management.

Exploration Data Desurvey & Analysis

Featuring an impressive array of tools to visualize your exploration and production sample data, Studio Geo is the perfect tool for preparing ground data for downstream processes such as modelling, estimation and scheduling.

Solid and Surface Modelling

Studio Geo has flexible tools to allow for either manual or automated creation of wireframe solids or surfaces to represent geological features, including the full range of Boolean and planar commands available in other products in the Studio range.

Core Strength

Datamine's Studio product range has built on its strengths for over 40 years, and provides the mining industry with the most capable tools available for data visualization, editing and analysis. Featuring an extensive range of evolved processes and commands to suit every occasion, these tools have been designed by industry experts. Partnered with proprietary tools unique to Studio Geo and a rich automation and scripting facility, you're always close to the most efficient solution.

MineTrust Data Management

MineTrust is Datamine's data sharing service; a data management solution that is used to share and synchronise versions of files and groups of files between multiple users and teams in separate locations. Unlike many other file synchronisation systems, MineTrust can deal with groups of files, or packages, with a mix of file types that are synchronised and shared together. MineTrust can tag packages and files with any amount of meta data to reflect the data’s content, purpose, and how it is used within organisations and business processes.

Note: If you are interested in supporting your business with MineTrust but haven't made the move yet, contact your local Datamine office to work out a plan that's best for you.

MineTrust is built into Datamine Studio products by default. The use of automatically assigned tags specific to products and workflows, enables data to be shared automatically and efficiently between users and products, removing the need to manually manage and transfer files.

A cloud-hosted, highly secure data storage service, MineTrust provides reliable data management services for all team members, regardless of their location. Data is 'pushed' to the server following changes on the desktop and 'pulled' to other users' machines where newer data is available. This makes the following tasks to be performed very quickly and easily:

  • Sharing the latest 'ground truth' with other team members, such as sharing the latest field mapping data with resource modellers, or the latest EOM survey results, and so on.

  • Sharing reference data amongst multiple team members, such as the latest development plan to update reconciliation results, or a standard legend to be used for corporate-level reporting, for example.

  • Pushing data along a workflow, such as the latest drillhole sample data for implicit modelling revisions.

MineTrust is built specifically for resource modelling and mine planning workflows. Its integration with Studio products ensures teams collaborate in real-time without leaving their familiar working environment. It helps eliminate miscommunication and data duplication by centralising project files and enforcing structured sharing practices across departments, operations and the corporate enterprise.
