Introduction
Drag-and-drop is an action performed with the mouse whereby a virtual object, e.g. a file, is selected by clicking and then dragged from one location to another location. Depending on how and where these virtual objects are dragged determines what action your application takes. Drag-and-drop is often used as a quicker alternative to using toolbars, control bars or menu options for certain commands.
How can drag-and-drop be used?
The two main uses for drag-and-drop are the addition of files to the project and the loading of files. The table below summarizes the use of drag-and-drop of files and objects:
