Description

Allows you to create a new closed string (polygon) in the 3D window by clicking in at least 3 locations. Clicking in more locations creates a polygon with more vertices.

 

How to Use

  1. Run the command.

  2. In the Snapping toolbar, select the required snap and data selection settings.

  3. In the Current Objects toolbar, select the current object or create a new one. More...

  4. In the Current Objects toolbar, select the required Attribute Field and associated Attribute Value parameters. More....

  5. Click to define the location of the polygon points.

  6. Click Cancel to stop digitizing.

  • If no strings object exists in memory, a new object will be created when this command is run, displaying details of the new object immediately in the Current Objects Toolbar.
  • When running this command, digitize mode continues until either another command is run orCancelis clicked (or <Esc> pressed).
  • Selecting a differentAttribute Valuewill automatically start a new string.
  • Right-click for snap; left-click for placing without snapping
  • If snapping is toggled on, string points may be snapped using the right mouse button.
  • If you are using a 3-button mouse, the middle button (or the button that emulates this function) will not perform any function in relation to this command.
Middle mouse-button activity is reliant on the correct system mouse settings being set for your operating system/hardware combination. For more information on configuring your middle-mouse button, consult your operating system or hardware's supporting documentation, as these settings are used by your system.
