Description

Creates a new string/perimeter by offsetting the selected string/perimeter, on the expansion side, by a specified distance, in the plane of the current view plane.

How to Use

  1. Run the command.

  2. Select the required string or perimeter, on the expansion side.

  3. In the Offset String dialog, specify the expansion distance, click OK.

  4. Repeat step 2 for each additional string.

    note.gif (1017 bytes) TheOffset Stringdialog is not displayed for subsequent strings and the expansion distance, defined the first time, is used for subsequent strings. The command must be cancelled and rerun in order to specify a different expansion distance.
  5. Click Cancel.

  • The specified offset will be applied perpendicular to each segment of the string.
  • If a rosettes file is currently loaded and use-rosettes-switch is toggled ON,  the expansion distance will be derived from the berm width value(s) in the ROSBWID field of the rosette file.
  • If a suitable block model is loaded and the use-modelfile-switch is toggled ON, the expansion distance will be derived from the berm width value(s) in the BERMWDTH field of the block model file.
